The Bet
After numerous weeks of continuous succesful attacks on coalition territories, the 15AA had picked Ad Dawrah Oil to fight on. it was 40RM's (Coal B) home base, and the 15AA must win by 65%. After watching the Coal B fight on this map numerous times in the past, including an Opp B defeat at the end of Campaign 4, paired with the fact its the official air force training map for Coal B air force, Kayess was not very confident in the week leading up to the battle, and privately joked with MajGen.ChalkOutline that if the 15AA could win the battle, that he would change his name to Gayess, a nickname given to him by numerous people in Opp B.
Despite the lack of confidence Kayess felt going into battle, the rest of the division faught their heart out and crushed the 40RM in their home territory with a win of 47 - 1. The notion of 'if we win Kayess will change his name to Gayess' was used a few times as motivational morale lifts during map switches and after the lost round. it proved to be quite an effective motivator to the many people that rip on Kayess and helped keep people on their toes.
After the battle, Kayess being a man of his word changed his name to Gayess in Teamspeak and on the 21cw Forums. Kayess was awarded the 'medal of honor' - Highest award that can be given to a member of the Division For Exemplary all around Battle Field contributions as well as on going service and support to the Division while not in Combat. the reason for the medal was as follows: For sacrificing his pride and laying it all out on the line, providing the Division with an exceptional motivator for the Battle of Ad Dawrah, and being a man of his word.
The move from Kayess has sparked off a copy cat, imitation of similar bets with Maj.Steve telling the troops if they win by 70% on Jibble City, he will change his name to Maj.Asshole.
