Ed
From 21CW Wiki
At the request of General Bishop, Ed took control of Beijing for Campaign #21. A relative newcomer to the tournament, this fine and upstanding soldier, this pillar of strength and fortitude, this paragon of indefatigable dedication and will, undertook the immense task of reining in a hard-core bunch of stone-cold killers and focusing their incalculable energy on snuffing their enemies from existence.
In the real world, our newly-minted Captain is accustomed not only to difficult challenges, but being unquestionably in charge. While taking command of Beijing would prove to be one of the hardest yet faced, he did not shy away from the rough times to come. This campaign would see our protagonist move forward in the tournament as, not merely a leader of men, but an inspiration to us all.
With the steady backing and ceaseless help, advice, and forbearance of an amazing company of experienced stone-cold assassins, this task proved much less troublesome than it could have been. The Beijing Officers endlessly assisted their inexperienced, yet hardworking and conscientious, CO. Hube, the XO, was a tireless source of steady experience and leadership. Diablo was the exemplar of sublime mayhem on the battlefield, leaving death and destruction in his wake like so many empty liquor bottles after a party. Blaber was the steady voice of calm and rationality that exemplified the British "stiff upper lip" and unflappability in the face of chaos.
The rest of Beijing; SuperFerret, Marine, Kayess, Manica, Carp, and an endless line of other brave and hungry fighters, seeking glory and honor on the field of battle through this campaign, proved the power and mettle of this company. At every flag taken, in every battle day fought, and in each enemy soldier left dead on the battlefield, Beijing further advanced it's legend. This was not due to the men in charge, but the foot soldier who shed his blood and left his earthly existence on the hallowed ground of combat against a determined foe. It is to these men that we owe the legend of Beijing...
After a hard-charging campaign in places such as Ejod Desert, Erhai Lake, and countless other forgotten places, the Red Star Alliance lost by the narrowest of margins against a valiant opponent. Though we bled ourselves dry to the very end, we failed to achieve that final victory so long pursued. That remains a dishonor that the Beijing CO will carry to his dying day...
Now, the former CO remains a Beijing company member. His attention to detail and desire for the team to win will, no doubt, be a continuing asset to his company. The only thing more desirable to the former CO of Beijing Company is to continue to fight at the side of his friends, marching shoulder to shoulder, facing peril again and again, for his home, for his country, and for his comrades!
